Is Intuition Safe to Use?
Have you ever had a feeling about something before you had any logical reason to know it?
You knew someone was going to call before your phone rang. You felt weird about a situation and later found out why. You had a strong sense something was going to work out, fall apart, shift, end, begin, or reveal itself before anyone said a damn thing.
That is usually the moment people start wondering, “Wait… is this my intuition?”
And then, depending on how they were raised, another question follows right behind it:
“Am I crazy? Is this real? Am I doing something wrong/evil?”
So let’s talk about it.
Intuition is not evil. It is not dangerous. It is not some dramatic supernatural lightning bolt reserved for a chosen few floating around in velvet capes. Intuition is your inner knowing. It is the part of you that picks up on information before your logical mind has had time to organize it into a neat little spreadsheet.
Everyone has intuition. Some people notice it more easily than others, but that does not mean they are special and you are spiritually defective. It usually means they have learned how their intuition speaks to them, and they have practiced listening.
Your intuition can show up as a gut feeling, a sudden knowing, a dream, a body sensation, a repeated thought, a symbol, a pull toward or away from something, or a quiet sense of “yes” or “no.” It can be subtle, which is why people miss it. We expect intuition to kick the door open and announce itself, when most of the time it knocks politely and waits to see if we are paying attention.
And yes, intuition is real.
That does not mean every thought in your head is intuitive. That is where people get tangled. Anxiety can be loud. Fear can be convincing. Trauma can make everything feel urgent. Ego can turn one tiny feeling into a full Broadway production.
Intuition usually feels different. It is often quieter, steadier, and less frantic. It may be firm, but it usually does not spiral. It gives information without needing to scream.
This is why grounding matters. Not because you need to be perfect or spiritually polished, but because it is much easier to recognize your intuition when your nervous system is not running through the house with scissors. And let’s face it, chances are if you’re reading this column, you know exactly what I mean.
Using your intuition is safe when you stay grounded, honest, and responsible. It is not a replacement for medical care, mental health support, common sense, or real-world action. It is a support system. It helps you notice what you may already know underneath the noise.
Strengthening your intuition does not have to be complicated. Start by paying attention to the small things. Notice when your body relaxes or tightens. Notice when a thought arrives calmly and keeps returning. Notice your dreams. Notice the symbols, songs, conversations, and repeated nudges that seem to show up at just the right time.
But please do not turn every feather, license plate, or oddly shaped potato into a an . We are practicing awareness, not obsession.
A simple way to begin is to ask yourself one question each morning:
“What do I need to know today?”
Then write down the first thing that comes to mind. Do not judge it. Do not edit it. Do not immediately call three people to ask if it was “right.” Just track it.
Over time, you will begin to understand your own intuitive language. You will learn what your yes feels like. You will learn what your no feels like. You will learn the difference between guidance and fear.
That is the real work.
This is also why I created The Intuitive Path, a 12-class series for people who want to learn how to connect with Spirit for themselves. Not because everyone needs to become a professional medium, but because you deserve to understand the way your own intuition, signs, nudges, dreams, and spiritual connection speak to you in everyday life.
If you feel called specifically toward mediumship development, Ignite Your Intuition is a separate class for that path. But if what you want is to trust yourself, understand your own intuitive language, and stop feeling afraid of the spiritual experiences you are already having, The Intuitive Path is where I would point you next.
Because intuition is not about becoming someone else. It is about learning to trust the part of you that has been trying to get your attention all along.
So no, your intuition is not evil.
No, you are not weird.
And no, you do not have to be afraid of it.
You just have to learn how it speaks.
May you always have food on your table, light in your life and love in your heart.
