In the ancient world, many cultures performed oracular rites. While the Norse, Celtic, and Greek peoples each have their own particular rituals, author Diana Paxson has written extensively about the similarities and differences in these rituals and how modern-day practitioners can create powerful oracular rituals.
Using Diana’s work as a starting point, we will perform an oracular ritual in which the warders and participants sing and drum the seer into the Otherworld. When the seer and the participants have entered an altered state of consciousness, the Guide will invite participants to come forward and ask questions of the seer. From their perch upon the high seat, the seer will relay what they see and hear in the Otherworld, channel spiritual messages, and provide wisdom and insight to each querent.
Expect this ritual to be longer or shorter than stated. This ritual will conclude when the seer is too tired to continue or all participants have had an opportunity to have their questions answered.
